How do I use the Bring In Your Own memory card option?

If you choose to bring in your own Xbox memory card it must be manufactured by either Microsoft (X08-25319), Mad Catz (#4507) or Datel (AR Action Replay MAX Memory). Ship us your memory card and in return you will receive an Xbox Softmod memory card for you to keep.

Should I order the Xbox Softmod memory card for NTSC or PAL format?

NTSC is for North America, PAL is for Europe and Australia *primarily.

Unlimited, as long as you do not delete the files on the Xbox Softmod memory card. 

Which Splinter Cell game is required to softmod?

Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell (Xbox, 2002). This is the first game of the series. Choose the original black label, platinum hits or classics version (PAL). The extended title in North America is Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Stealth Action Redefined.

Do I need to softmod my Xbox to install XBMC (XBMC4XBOX)?

Does the Xbox Softmod memory card work for PAL Xbox?

Yes. Countries that use PAL i.e. United Kingdom and Australia will receive PAL files in their Xbox Softmod memory card. You will also need PAL version of Splinter Cell.

Can I play import Xbox games after I softmod?
Yes. Softmodding the Xbox will unlock the region code to play Xbox games from all regions such as North America, Japan and Europe. NTSC, NTSC-J and PAL. (You can also play any region DVD Movie)

Do I have to get anything else after softmodding?

The only requirements to softmod is the Xbox Softmod memory card and the game Splinter Cell but to transfer files i.e. applications, emulators, roms to the Xbox you will need an Ethernet cable (internet cable). A free FTP program will be used to transfer files to the Xbox, internet is not required. Learn more in the Xbox Softmod Kit tutorial. *internet is not required to transfer files to the Xbox

Do I still need Action Replay or Xploder?

No. All that is required to mod the Xbox is the Xbox Softmod Kit.

Can I softmod the Xbox with 007: Agent Under Fire?
Yes, but the 007: Agent Under Fire disc must either be the original version or Platinum Hits. If Platinum Hits then the disc must have this serial number written on the disc 1448517. If you would like the NTSC 007: Agent Under Fire memory card instead of Splinter Cell then Contact Us before you order.

Can I soft mod the Xbox with MechAssault?
Yes, but the MechAssault disc must have this serial number written on the discs inner ring MS02301L. Platinum Hits will not work. The "Not For Resale" version will not work. If you would like the NTSC MechAssault memory card instead of Splinter Cell then Contact Us you order.

Do I need a modchip?

No. This is a softmod, a mod chip is not needed. The Xbox Softmod Kit alone will mod the Xbox. Learn more on upgrading the original Xbox hard drive

Does the original Xbox have built-in memory?

Yes, a built in 8GB hard drive. However a modded Xbox can only use a bit more than 4.5GB, the other memory is used to run the Xbox properly.
